For you to critically analyse a paper, you must first learn to do two things, read and think critically. The definition of thinking critically is to be able to use an intellectual and disciplined process to evaluate and analyse information that has been gathered from the experience, communication and observation to be used a guide to base your belief and action on.  When it is explained in simple terms, it means to gather the information that is available in regards to a particular topic and doing an interpretation of the relevant sources that the information was derived from to process it in an intelligent way.

To write critically is not just to acquire the information, memorize it or to reiterate what others think. It is a skill that is learned while actively participating in a sufficient way in which it will enable you to write critically about a well balanced and accurately communicated paper. You may wonder if it is natural for us to think critically in our everyday lives, but this is one life skill that should be developed and used frequently as it can enable us to act in any given situation. Throughout your academic life, you will get instances where you will need to first think, then write critically on any given essay topic.  Many times we are too busy, burdened, occupied or stressed to do so.

To get the critical analysis paper started, you will be required to choose a topic that you find interesting. The reader is able to almost immediately determine if you were excited or enthusiastic about the topic you wrote. And if you were knowledgeable on the chosen topic. Even if a topic is chosen for you, you should be able to relate it to your life or one experience that you have had. An example is healthcare with this broad topic, you should be able to describe an instance wherein a family member, friend or even yourself have benefited from healthcare whether it was a bad experience or a good one.

When you begin the research, you will realize that there are different takes on the subject which you can use to critically write a compelling paper. There is a specific way in which you have to read a paper in order to come to a critical conclusion.  It is a lot easier to just skim through the sources the first time that you read it. This enables you to get a clear picture of the entire content. You will then be required to read over again several times to gather relevant information that pertains to your subject. You have to not only read to get information, but to find different ways to think about your topic.

The important thing is for you to evaluate the information and ensure that the conclusion that you have drawn is relevant. You will then be required to make judgements and create arguments based on your personal conclusions. The topic can be researched by visiting the library and also by using different sources. Ensure also that your sources are reputable before you cite them.the following steps are used to illustrate the form an essay should take.

·         Put the topic sentence at the beginning of the paper

·         The sentences that follow are supposed to explain develop or establish the topic sentences statement.

·         The last sentence is supposed to expound on the thought, or emphasize an important consequence in the topic sentence.

·         The last paragraph is supposed to be a summary of the conclusions with no new information. This paragraph will just reinforce the main ideas.

At the end of the paper, your audience or readers with an impactful conclusion that will show that this is the end.
