True tales of woe, stories of shame, and the occasional mean-spirited rant, by anonymous Bundle users
Before we got married, my husband and I shared my place intermittently. He had a full-time job but took a buyout because he had plans to start a business. I went to college and always made more, but it didn’t seem to be a problem. We held separate accounts and paid bills and stuff individually. Then, just before our engagement, everything tanked. His business went under, and he convinced me to move out of my rented apartment to save money. It didn’t, and I ended up paying for the wedding. At the same time, I was picking up ALL other expenses for us — utilities, groceries, car payments, daily pocket money for both of us, etc. It’s a good thing I have a good job. He kept saying that money would be coming, but it never did. I tried to be understanding and helpful, but it was probably just plain stupid in the end. I had never dealt with anyone like this before.
