The finals of the second annual Western Kingston Inter-school Grade Nine Mathematics Competition got under way last Thursday afternoon at the Tivoli High School auditorium. Eight schools from the West Kingston area entered the competition: Charlie Smith High, Kingston High, Tivoli High, Denham Town High, St Anne's High, Trench Town High, Haile Selassie High and St Andrew Technical.
The competition is geared to enhance mathematically-inclined students, as well as to help those who are often under the misconception that mathematics is too hard to handle.
