GRIFFIN, Ga. -- Rapper Yung Hott was shot and killed in Griffin Saturday night while he recorded a music video.
Friends say gunmen opened fire on Hott, who's given name is Jerod Paige, while he recorded the video in a Griffin neighborhood.
"I saw them," witness Virginia Berry told Channel 2's Tony Thomas. "They just shot him like this; pump, pump, shoot, pump, shoot, pump."
"It sounded like a big firecracker going off," Melanie Watkins who was nearby when the shooting happened said.
Officers spent hours trying to figure out how many shots were fired, and why.
"What you see here is a fuselage of spent shell casings, shotgun shells," Lt. Sam Parks of the Griffin Police Department said. "There are shell casings over this entire block."
