Not to take anything away from the colorful language of patois but bear in mind exams are in standard english..

If you can't read and understand standard english you are at a big disadvantage. As a part of your preparation for study and exams make it a point of duty to learn the english language...

This you can do by paying more attention in your English and Eng Literature classes, reading more, and writing and communicating in standard english. Practice, practice, practice!!!

Patois maybe cool but standard english is the key to improving your study/retention and reading, comprehending and answering exam ques...
