Set up a study plan throughout the year...this way you can study for shorter periods for greater retention while pacing yourself towards your ultimate goal...
Also, your reviews should be planned over the year also not just before sitting the exam. I strongly recommend separate review notes that are shorter and focused on the important topics complimented by mnemonics which have tremendous benefits.
As exam draws closer, past paper questions should be utilized and questions answered and checked for flow and accuracy and also for speed (some students write beautiful ans...the problem is they take all day).
